5 Unforgettable Books: Highlights from Our Podcast Journey

Hey, Well Read Baddies! 📚💕

As we celebrate 5 years of She Well Read, we wanted to highlight all of the top books we’ve covered on each season of the podcast. These books have not only been enjoyable reads but have also sparked some of our best discussions!

1. Text Me When You Get Home by Kayleen Schaefer

This book was an absolute game-changer for us. Its exploration of female friendships resonated deeply, and we loved discussing how our own friendships have shaped us. The stories and insights Schaefer shared were both heartwarming and eye-opening, making it a standout for our debut season.

2. More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth

Elaine Welteroth’s memoir was a powerful and inspiring read and y’all know Lana can’t stop saying this is what got her into memoirs haha. Her journey through the media world and her insights on identity and self-worth provided so much material for deep discussion. We connected with her story on so many levels, and your feedback was equally enthusiastic.

3. Please Don’t Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes by Phoebe Robinson

Phoebe Robinson’s collection of essays had us laughing out loud and nodding in agreement. Her sharp wit and relatable anecdotes made this book a joy to dissect. This season was filled with laughter and personal stories, making it one of our favorites. This was actually the first book you all voted on as a community!

4. I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

Jennette McCurdy’s memoir was deeply moving and incredibly brave. Her candid account of her experiences touched our hearts, and we had so many thought provoking and healing conversations. This season resonated with so many of you, and we were grateful for the open dialogue it sparked.

5. Black Girl IRL: Life Between the Mess and the Magic by Gail Hamilton Azodo

Currently, we’re diving into this amazing book, and it’s already sparking some incredible dialogues. Gail Hamilton Azodo’s insights into the complexities of life as a Black woman are both powerful and relatable. We’re so excited to continue exploring this book with you all!

These books have not only been amazing reads but have also sparked meaningful conversations and deep connections with our listeners. We can’t wait to dive into more incredible books with you all in the future!

XOXO,
Lana and Sam

P.S. Books are great and all, but there wouldn’t be a bookclub without YOU, so let’s get into some of your lovely faces…
